A personal inflation tracker for Krónan, the Icelandic grocery chain.
Built on Krónan's recently-released MCP for their Snjallverslun digital store, the tool pulls a shopper's actual order history and reprices every item at today's cost surfacing the real impact of food inflation on the basket they actually buy, not the national CPI average.
The dashboard adapts to data volume. Power shoppers with extensive order history see full spending trends, category breakdowns, and per-product inflation. New users with one or two orders get a baseline reprice: the same basket at today's prices, with the delta surfaced item-by-item.
Either way, the analysis is grounded in the user's own purchases, so the inflation signal is concrete (this milk went up 23%) rather than abstract (food prices rose 4.2% YoY).
Privacy-first by design: no database, no accounts, nothing stored server-side. The Krónan API token is used once for the comparison and immediately discarded.
