BoardroomKids is a calm digital workspace designed to introduce children to writing, typing, and thinking with a keyboard instead of passive screen consumption.
Many children’s digital products are designed to maximize engagement through fast-paced visuals, rewards, and constant stimulation. While effective at holding attention, these experiences often encourage passive consumption rather than creativity or expression.
BoardroomKids explores a different approach.
The platform provides a minimal, low-stimulation environment where children can use a keyboard to write notes, sketch ideas, and experiment with simple digital tools. Instead of games or addictive mechanics, the focus is on helping children become comfortable with creating rather than consuming on a computer.
The idea came from a practical situation: sometimes I bring my daughter to work. Rather than placing her in front of highly stimulating children’s apps, I wanted something that lets her sit beside me and interact with a computer in a calm and meaningful way.
BoardroomKids allows children to: • experiment with using a keyboard and computer as a creative tool • everything that happens on screen is a direct action reaction without constant stimulation • practice drawing via mouse/trackpad/phone
