Bílaleikir ("Car Games") is a mobile-first PWA built for Icelandic families on road trips. It keeps kids entertained by turning the drive into interactive games centered around things they see through the car window.
Four games included:
Bílabingó Countryside bingo with three difficulty levels (3x3 for ages 3–6, 4x4 for 7–10, 5x5 for 11+). Spot sheep, horses, waterfalls, churches, rainbows, and more. Each card is randomly generated with hand-illustrated icons.
Bílateljari A tally counter for counting cars by color or vehicle type. Great for settling "which color is most common?" debates.
Bílaröð Competitive streak game where players pick a car color and race to spot theirs most often. Timed or point-based goals.
Stafrófið The full Icelandic alphabet (30 letters). Find something in the environment starting with each letter. Key features: Installable PWA (works offline), entirely in Icelandic, haptic feedback, AI-generated children's-book-style icons, no accounts/ads/tracking. Built with React 19, Vite, and Tailwind CSS. Deployed on Vercel.
