Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide. In Iceland, around 250 women are diagnosed every year — yet early detection dramatically improves outcomes. The problem is simple: most women don't know how to examine themselves, and even fewer do it regularly.
Mín Skimun changes that. It's a free app that guides you through a monthly breast self-examination in under 10 minutes — step by step. It remembers what's normal for your body, tracks changes over time, and tells you when it's time to book your next mammography. No login. No data leaving your phone. Just you and your health. We built it because the information exists — it just wasn't accessible, warm, or designed for real women. Mín Skimun is.
Today, your data lives privately on your own device. But our vision goes further — connecting Mín Skimun to rafræn skilríki and your personal health records, so the app already knows when your last mammogram was, and can remind you before you even think to check.
